Jacksonville, Fla. (Feb. 18, 2015) – Matthew’s, Bistro Aix, Taco Lu and Intuition Ale Works are among nearly 50 of Jacksonville’s best-known restaurants that will take part in the 3Squares fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center Grand Lobby.
All the proceeds from 3Squares will go to Feeding Northeast Florida, a nonprofit agency that provides food to more than 150 food pantries in 17 area counties. Winn-Dixie is the presenting sponsor for the event.
“The response from the restaurant and beverage community has been fantastic,” said Eddie Fink, who has coordinated with restaurants, caterers and beverage companies for more than 20 years in Jacksonville to hold an annual fundraising event to support the fight against hunger. “They have truly embraced this event as their own. 3Squares will showcase an incredible sampling of Jacksonville’s finest, coming together to do a great event for a great cause.”
General admission tickets are $70 per person, with VIP tickets available for $100 that include a special seated tasting prior to the public opening. 3Squares will feature local restaurants, beverage distributors and caterers engaging in a friendly competition showcasing their signature dishes. In addition to the fabulous food and spirits, local band Firewater Tent Revival will provide live entertainment and special prizes will be given away throughout the event.
Fink started supporting the local food bank in 1989, serving as a member of a local committee of chefs and restaurant owners who wanted to give back to the community. Fink serves as committee chairman for 3Squares, Bob Conrad handles graphic design, and Jim Mace, a member of the original committee in 1989, manages operations and event logistics of the event.
