JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (October 8, 2019) — Feeding Northeast Florida, the community’s largest hunger relief organization, will be able to assist more families thanks to a generous grant from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Bishops’ Storehouse in Jacksonville, a volunteer-run, humanitarian resource center for the Church, , will fulfill the grant from the Church. Feeding Northeast Florida will order items such as fresh produce, canned goods, meats, personal hygiene products and household cleaning supplies. Those items will then be distributed to families in need across Northeast Florida.

“Members of our Church seek to follow the example of Jesus Christ and love our neighbor, especially those who are hungry and need help getting back on their feet,” said Artis Hudnall, manager of the Bishops’ Storehouse in Jacksonville. “Pairing the Church’s food resources with Feeding Northeast Florida’s extensive distribution network is a great way to make that happen.”

Through this new partnership, Feeding Northeast Florida and the Church will be able to help hundreds of additional families who are struggling to put food on the table.

“We are honored The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has decided to partner with Feeding Northeast Florida,” said President and CEO of Feeding Northeast Florida Susan King. “This generous gift will help us provide an incredible amount of food to people in our eight-county region, allowing us to further our mission.”
