A: You can expect to make a real difference! We’re committed to providing a first-class volunteer experience that is not limited to traditional food banking. As we grow, we will rely on volunteers to play key roles in operations, distribution, fundraising and keeping us innovative. All along the way, you will see your efforts will have an immediate and positive impact on the people who live in Northeast Florida.
Q: Who can volunteer?
A: We accept volunteers age 12 and older as long as there is appropriate adult supervision, as well.
Q: Where do I volunteer?
A: You can provide help at our distribution center, give your time to our partner agencies, collaborate at work with your peers, or signup for virtual volunteering projects and events from home. We have 117 partner locations throughout 17 counties, so we can place you where it’s convenient for you to serve.

Q: What roles/assignments are available?
A: Here’s a few of the volunteer opportunities available at Feeding Northeast Florida:
- Food Sorting – Ensure quality and safe food is being distributed to clients by working with teams to inspect, categorize and package food items. Depending on the day, we may be sorting donations of shelf-stable items, bagging fresh produce, or repacking frozen items.
- Building Agency Orders – With large logistics comes large orders. Volunteers work in teams to build shipments. Food items are pulled and staged on pallets for distribution to agencies.
- Agency Capacity Core – Looking to help out at our partner agencies? Great! Our partner agencies provide services directly to clients including food, shelter, job-training, counseling and much more. Volunteers in this program receive specific training in skills to assist agencies in tasks such as food distribution, client intake, as well as administrative tasks.
