The nation’s largest single-day food drive to help feed needy families and children will be held on Saturday, May 13. On that day, leave a bag of non-perishable food donations near your mailbox. Your local letter carrier will collect the donations, and Feeding Northeast Florida staff and volunteers will help distribute the donations to families in need.

2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the national drive. Since the nation’s largest single-day food drive began in 1993, letter carriers have collected more than 1.5 billion pounds of non-perishable food left by customers’ mailboxes and delivered to local food banks in more than 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam.

Volunteers Needed

To make this food drive possible, we need residents to participate by leaving food near their mailbox, and volunteers to help us sort the donations at 11 post office locations around Jacksonville. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact khoneycutt@feedingnefl.org
