John Butler is a 10th grader at Providence School. Last year, he started the school’s Social Club and through it, is raising money for Feeding Northeast Florida to provide food to those who are less fortunate. His generous $900 donation provided 5,400 meals to hungry children and families, seniors and veterans in Northeast Florida.

He also started a fruit and vegetable garden and plans to donate the fresh produce to our organization.

“I am fortunate to not have to worry about food on my table and am hoping to help relieve other people’s struggles by helping provide money for food as well as provide the fruits and vegetables that I have grown myself,” John said.

He said his goal is to provide a sense of security that comes from not worrying about having basic necessities like food. And he wants other young people to know that they can help, too.

“You are never too young to make a difference in other people’s lives that are less fortunate than you,” he said.

John is helping make a significant impact in people’s lives and Feeding Northeast Florida is thankful for his generosity.
