In recognition of 2015 National Volunteer Week this month, Feeding Northeast Florida is encouraging the community to help it fill all of its 600 volunteer slots for the month of April.

We’ll also be highlighting volunteers on our Facebook and Twitter accounts – with volunteers sending photos and the hashtag #wearefeedingnefl – and we’re hosting a recognition party at the end of the month to honor them and award our top volunteers for their valuable service.

Food and cash are vital to ensure we can distribute food to more than 322,000 people in 17 area counties each year – but it couldn’t be accomplished without the volunteers we need to get the job done. Serving more than 150 food pantries, faith-based and charitable organizations, and there’s no way we could do it without the support of individual and corporate volunteers at our distribution center.

Want to sign up to volunteer?  Just register right here!

Don’t have the time, but still want to help?  Just make a donation to “buy your volunteer time.”

This year, an hour of service from a Florida volunteer equals $21.24 — and for every dollar you give, we can leverage it to provide seven meals for people facing hunger in our community.

As always, thanks for your support.
