Feeding Northeast Florida (FNEFL) is Your Community Food Bank – the community’s largest hunger-relief network, working to establish food security across eight counties in Northeast Florida.
More than 283,000 individuals in Northeast Florida struggle to put food on the table. More than 81,000 of those individuals are children. Feeding Northeast Florida works to ensure that these children and families, seniors and veterans have the food and hope that they need so they can focus on building a foundation for a stronger tomorrow.
Within three weeks after we were organized in February 2014, we delivered our first load of food in the community — distributing more than 22,000 pounds of fresh produce and high-quality food to community partners like City Rescue Mission, Trinity Rescue Mission, Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM), Salvation Army and The Sulzbacher Center for use in their feeding and food distribution programs. We continue to grow and in 2017, we distributed more than 12.5 million meals to those struggling with hunger through our extensive network of 160 community partners and programs in the region. These partners each have unique feeding programs that assist local residents in need. Through their partnership with Feeding Northeast Florida, these community partners are able to reallocate their food budgets to other programs, like job training and placement, mental health counseling and low cost childcare.
